NESTO: Premium Living with a Large Terrace where the City Meets the Countryside

02. June 2025

Rarely do you find projects that blend contrasting qualities into a harmonious whole. The new Bratislava district of Nesto in Petržalka is a rare example of such synergy. We visited a unique penthouse at this new location, and its owner shared with us what premium living for the discerning means. Welcome to our visit with Patrik Nagy.

What convinced you to buy an apartment in the Nesto project?

When choosing an apartment in Nesto, three aspects caught my attention. The unique location – we’re situated at the very edge of Petržalka, just 100 meters from the Austrian border.

Another factor was the well-thought-out layout. Nesto apartments have logically separate day and night zones, many have two bathrooms, separate laundry rooms, and some have above-standard sizes.

The third reason was the very large terraces. These are full-fledged extensions of the living space, rather than just formal additions to the apartments.

Your terrace surrounds your apartment on three sides and is larger than many apartments. How do you utilize this extensive outdoor space?

A large terrace has always been my dream, and here it came true. On the rooftop of the residential building, I have 220 m², which fulfils my desire for house-like living without the maintenance worries. I’ve functionally divided the space into a day zone by the living room for entertaining guests and a wellness zone with a sauna cabin and views of the sunset to the west.

Imagine a place where you wake up to panoramic views of Austrian hills and fall asleep to the lights of Bratislava. At Nesto Prime, this is everyday reality. Space takes on new meaning here – from generously dimensioned apartments (100-300 m²) to private terraces and front gardens. There are only two apartments per floor, so privacy gains a new dimension. The silence of a peaceful zone without cars underscores that true luxury lies in space and harmony with the surroundings.

Your interior feels harmonious and contains many works of art. What philosophy guided its creation?

When furnishing, I focused on creating a space that would be peaceful yet visually interesting. I prefer natural materials – rough concrete, wood, and earthy tones.

A specific element is the Chevron-style parquet flooring – this is an unconventional alternative to classic herringbone, creating an elegant, flowing pattern.

I select art based on emotions. I prefer colourful compositions that give energy to space. Most are by Slovak artists that I am happy to support.

A surprise in the interior is the blue kitchen, which isn’t entirely typical. Why did you choose this shade and matte finish?

When people decide on a kitchen, many select glossy white. I prefer bolder combinations, so I combined grey with blue and pastel terracotta.

The whole feels harmonious – matte colours, earthy tones, concrete, and grey perfectly complement each other.

In addition to the apartment, the wider location is important. Nesto is creating a complete urban district. How do you evaluate this from a resident’s perspective?

This overall concept of the project greatly impressed me – a completely new district is emerging here, where you have everything you need at hand. Already there are cycling paths, relaxation zones, and children’s playgrounds. Shops and services will be added, which will only increase the value of the place.

The advantage is transport accessibility. I can get to Aupark in 5 minutes, to the city centre in 7 minutes, and I’m at Schwechat airport in less than 30 minutes. The location is quiet thanks to the noise barrier, but the proximity to the highway is crucial for me as a traveller.

Quality of execution is often a topic discussed with new projects. People sometimes worry whether the developer will maintain the promised standard. What do you think about the technical and material execution of your apartment?

Lucron, the project’s developer, prides itself on quality. I particularly appreciate the above-standard ceiling height of 275 cm, large windows, and exotic wood used on the terraces.

Garages have electric vehicle charging, which I consider essential. I own a hybrid, and being able to charge it at home significantly reduces my operating costs.

I was pleasantly surprised by the client service – their professional approach, the comprehensive documentation, dedicated portal, and detailed design manual with supplier contacts.

How would you characterize the typical Nesto resident?

Initially, I thought Nesto was primarily for families with children, but the reality is more diverse. The project appeals to people looking for living with an emphasis on quality and space, but who don’t want to sacrifice the advantages of city life. It’s ideal for active individuals who appreciate a morning bike ride along the Danube and want to be quickly in the centre in the evening.

For me personally, this apartment is a long-term solution. I consider Nesto today to be an uncut diamond that will gain value with the completion of further phases and become one of Bratislava’s most prestigious addresses.

We heard that you also bought an apartment in the Nesto project for your mother. What led you to this decision and what advantages does it bring?

Yes, I also bought an apartment in Nesto for my mother, in a different block. She and my father always thought about better and larger living. When this opportunity arose, I said to myself, why not.

It’s an apartment with a garden – 100 m² of greenery and a 10 m² terrace. Mum couldn’t believe it at first, but now she enjoys the garden to the fullest.

I like the fact that as they approach sixty, they have an ideal solution. A house would be too demanding as regards upkeep, especially in old age. This way they have both house and apartment in one.

You describe living in Nesto as life at the border of two worlds – urban bustle and natural peace. What’s it like living here?

It’s a privilege, I appreciate every day. In the morning, I wake up with the sunrise, in the evening I watch the sunset over the Austrian wind turbines.

The apartment doesn’t overheat during the day and offers peace for work and relaxation, and I can still be at the centre of the action within minutes. It’s life with the advantages of both city and the countryside without compromise.
