Our project offers exceptional housing, which brings many benefits for future “Nesto people”. The first stage of construction opened up the southern square, and so we named the apartment building in its immediate vicinity – Nesto on the Square. It will offer apartments situated in quiet inner blocks along with extensive green areas and urban living.

The construction of the first stage of Nesto on the Square is progressing according to plan, and the first apartments will be handed over to the new owners in a year’s time. The dominant feature of the first stage of Nesto South will be the square. Extensive public space is not common as part of a new development in Slovakia. We have planned a lively place for the community and the public. The square at Nesto will be very spacious and modern, and will fulfil all its functions to the very highest quality. The first square at Nesto is designed in such a way that it welcomes new “Nesto people”. The wide open space with an urban atmosphere will open towards the interior – a more intimate place full of greenery. We present the future form of the new neighbourhood to you in our latest video.

One square, many functions

The vision for this well designed square is for it to become the “soul” of the project. The community and new residents will bring life to it. We designed the southern part of Nesto so the square is the gateway to the Green Promenade – a pedestrian zone that will cross the entire Nesto and will be used for relaxation and sports activities. A water fountain will be located on the southern square for children and adults for refreshment on hot summer days. In its vicinity, there will be wooden “islands” for picnics and sitting in the shade of trees. All the buildings around the square will be situated to help prevent overheating of the open area and there will also be technical solutions for retaining water.

The square as an extended living room

This is how we perceive our public space at Nesto South. It will be paved with stone and will be the venue for various urban-type events. City markets, community events, food festivals, more intimate musical concerts, theatre performances for children, and Christmas markets will be held here. The square will be the entrance gate to Nesto from Kopčianska street and will be a lively space for neighbourhood meetings and building a community of new “Nesto residents” with connections to the residents of Petržalka. From Nesto, it will be just a short trip away to neighbouring Austria, Vienna airport, and Bratislava city centre.
