What is Nesto?

The new, creative urban district of Bratislava, where man finds everything from living, space for work up to leisure time options. It organically develops, grows, cares about its people and visitors, and still brings something new.

Why this particular location?

  • Nesto will grow on the border of Slovakia with Austria, on the axis of the broader metropolitan area. Transport by bike from the center of the city takes 17 minutes, by public transport 16 minutes and by car 6 minutes. There is a university complex in the Mlynská Dolina Valley, 8 minute drive on public transport.
  • In Nesto, there will be a new transport node-railway station with connection to Vienna. A new railway stop will be created here for a more comfortable transport experience. The neighbourhood will also be linked to the Eurovelo 6 and 13 international cycle routes, on which you can get to the Austrian Lake Neusiedler See.
  • The inhabitants of Nesto also have comfortable shopping around the corner in Kittsee, or an easy trip to the Austrian Berg and Hainburg available.

The contribution of Nesto to Bratislava

Nesto will be the first creative district in Bratislava. Similar projects are known to people from several European cities, such as Hamburg, Amsterdam, Berlin and Copenhagen. These sites are generally a drag on local economies.

The streets of Nesto will be full of life. The concept of “live street” is not new. It was created in 70´s in the Netherlands, where they received the name-Woonerf. This creates a place that will not only be home to thousands of inhabitants, but also a destination for people from Bratislava and the entire metropolitan area dating back to Austrian Vienna.
